The law firm Kalliopé (Kalliopé) advised the shareholders of Faïencerie de Pornic on the company’s acquisition by the Breton group MAT!

Founded in 1947, Faïencerie de Pornic (€3.6m revenue, 30 employees) is famous for its earthenware products and its iconic “name bowl”. It is renowned for its unique expertise, particularly in hand-written calligraphy.

The Mat! Group (€200m revenue in 2023, 600 employees) brings together all the activities of drinks distributor Cozigou. The takeover is part of the diversification strategy of this family business based in Plouisy, in the Côte d’Armor region of France. It also reflects the group’s desire to preserve and promote Breton know-how and its commitment to local heritage. Gojngn forward, Etienne-Marie de Boissieu, founder of the Nantes-based SME Egide, will manage the SME based in the port of Pornic, taking over from Pierre Woda, who managed the company for 22 years.

Kalliopé assisted the shareholders of Faïencerie de Pornic with all corporate aspects of the transaction, with a team comprising Tanguy d’Everlange (partner) and Ava Sereshki (associate).
